Cultivating
Student Engagement
The Greenhouse’s success is rooted in student passion and creativity—from classroom projects and clubs to time spent nurturing new ideas after school. Fueled by this energy, the Greenhouse has become a thriving hub of exploration and learning.
Now, we’re building on that momentum to create even more ways for students to explore, learn and lead through hands-on experiences:
- Connect students to entrepreneurship opportunities through projects like our Harvest Basket program.
- Expand student learning in areas like sustainability, hydroponics, plant propagation and energy systems.
- Improve the Greenhouse space to optimize opportunities for student learning and involvement.
- Continue to develop a more sustainable, efficient and year-round facility that will serve as a model of environmental stewardship.

What We Need to Keep Growing
To support these innovative educational experiences, we need:
- A solar power system for the Greenhouse that will reduce its environmental impact, improve its sustainability, and serve as a real-world model of sustainable energy.
- Hydroponics system enhancements, including upgrades like water chillers and aeration pumps to improve efficiency and plant health in our hydroponic system.
- Air quality and environmental control system enhancements, including new ventilation fans and a commercial grade air filter to improve air circulation and reduce airborne contaminants and pests.
- Plant propagation and cultivation equipment for a dedicated succulent propagation system to expand hands-on learning in plant propagation and care.
