French Leadership Opportunities
Students lead and participate in clubs such as the Francophone Council and French Fictional Literature Society, planning events like the Carnaval d’hiver (Winter Carnival). They also hold leadership roles in school-wide clubs & councils like Prefect Council and Students' Council.
Language Learning Outside the Classroom

The Power of
French Immersion
WIC's French Immersion program was not just about learning a language; it was a transformative journey that shaped the foundation of my success today. These lessons seamlessly translated into my journey at Ivey Business School, where the skills of building meaningful relationships, promoting culture, and confidently navigating challenges became my guiding light. This program taught me that learning can be genuinely fun, and it is this joy in learning that has fueled my success at Ivey and beyond.Shelby Fulton

Class of 2021
Student
French Immersion Class of 2025
We believed that to truly learn French, our child needed to use it as a tool to learn other subjects. Enrolling at WIC ensured that he not only continued to develop his French language skills but also experienced French culture firsthand through trips to Quebec City, local field trips in Calgary, and engaging in cultural activities. Completing courses in French is a remarkable accomplishment and a testament to the abilities of WIC’s French Immersion students. WIC Parent
