Board of Directors

Stewarding WIC’s Mission and Future

West Island College is governed by a dynamic Board of Directors made up of experienced Calgary leaders who bring diverse perspectives and skill sets, all united by a shared commitment to the school’s mission, strategic direction, and long-term vision.

Governance and Strategic Oversight

WIC is operated by The West Island College Society of Alberta, which in turn is governed by a Board of Directors (The Board).

The Board is made up of dedicated parents, alumni, and community members who bring diverse perspectives and professional expertise to their roles. Focused on long-term strategy and governance, the Board remains at arm’s length from the College’s daily operations, leadership, and curriculum. It sets policy and direction through strategic planning and goal-setting to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the College while advancing its Mission and Vision. The Board also hires and oversees the Head of School & CEO, to whom it delegates authority over the leadership of the College, Society, and operational matters.
