Technology at WIC
Embracing Digital Learning
Technology as an integral part of the WIC experience. By equipping students with the right tools and resources, we prepare them for the digital world, giving them the skills and confidence to thrive both in school and beyond.
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)
Our BYOD program empowers students to take charge of their learning by bringing their own devices to school. Integrating personal technology into daily learning helps students build essential tech skills for today’s dynamic world.
This model fosters a sense of responsibility and independence in our students, allowing them to personalize their learning experience. It ensures students become familiar with the digital tools and platforms they will encounter in higher education and future careers.
Note: The program supports specific laptops with required minimum specs. Detailed information will be shared with those accepted to the College.
Enriching the Learning Experience
Our commitment to technology goes beyond devices and platforms. We integrate technology into our curriculum to make learning more engaging and relevant. Through interactive digital tools in the classroom, virtual simulations and research tools, WIC leverages technology to enhance critical thinking, creativity and collaboration.
Keeping Parents and Students Connected
At WIC, we use two platforms to ensure seamless communication between students, parents and teachers. By using these platforms, WIC ensures transparent and effective communication between school and home, helping students and parents take a proactive role in the learning process.
PowerSchool
PowerSchool is a student information system that allows parents and students to access grades, attendance records and academic progress.
Canvas
Canvas is a learning management system where students can access course materials, assignments and class announcements. With Canvas, students are better able to manage their workload, stay organized and communicate with teachers. Parents are also able to view their child’s assignments and monitor deadlines.
Building community through relationships
Project Here & Now
We are committed to enhancing student well-being and promoting meaningful connections. Project Here & Now focuses on reducing students' reliance on technology during school hours, encouraging them to be more present in their interactions and academic pursuits. This initiative emphasizes balance, community building and healthy technology use.
