Developing Critical Math Skills

The mathematics program at WIC provides students with a solid foundation in mathematical concepts and problem-solving techniques.

In alignment with Alberta Education guidelines, our curriculum emphasizes logical reasoning, analytical skills and practical applications of mathematics in everyday life. By offering an enriched curriculum that challenges students to go beyond the standard expectations, our program fosters a deeper understanding and appreciation of mathematics, preparing students for advanced studies and real-world problem-solving.

Students Will Gain:
  • Problem-Solving Skills
  • Analytical Thinking Skills
  • Mathematical Literacy
  • Practical Applications Experience
  • Technological Proficiency

Teaching math is about sharing the joy and excitement of a subject that often feels misunderstood. Our classrooms come alive as students explore patterns in the world, tackle tough questions together and uncover the 'what if' moments that expand their understanding. By treating math as a language, we encourage students to talk, collaborate and share their creativity - often inspiring everyone to see math in entirely new ways.
