Language Proficiency for a Connected World

At WIC, International Language course electives - French as a Second Language and Spanish as a Second Language - equip students with practical communication skills while fostering a deeper understanding of diverse cultures.

Students Will Gain:
  • Language Proficiency
  • Cultural Understanding
  • Global Competence
  • Increased Cognitive Abilities
  • Intercultural Communication Skills

Learning an international language means immersing yourself in the heart of a culture. From folding empanadas with WIC parents to crafting altars for Día de los Muertos to celebrating Carnaval de Québec (Québec Winter Carnival), students engage in hands-on experiences that bring traditions to life. These activities help them connect with the rich diversity of global celebrations and communication, fostering a deep appreciation for the beauty and complexity of every culture.
