French Language Arts
Cultural and Linguistic Fluency in French
At WIC, the French Language Arts (FLA) program is a key part of our senior high French Immersion stream.
Aligned with Alberta Education guidelines, it focuses on language proficiency, cultural awareness, and critical thinking. This rigorous curriculum prepares students to earn their WIC Bilingual Diploma while deepening their understanding of Francophone cultures and advancing their language skills beyond the standard requirements.
At WIC, French classes open the door to new experiences. Working alongside our international Francophone faculty elevates these opportunities, showcasing the diversity of the language in ways that inspire students. Watching them discover they can hold a conversation, connect with another culture, or see the world from a fresh perspective makes teaching French incredibly rewarding.
