The French Immersion program at WIC is designed for students who have been enrolled in French Immersion for the majority of their elementary school education. WIC offers a Continuing French Immersion program, not a Late Immersion program.
In following this curriculum, students have the opportunity to earn a Bilingual High School Diploma.
Students will take four core courses in French:
French Language Arts

At WIC, all non French Immersion students in Gr. 7 - 9 must select a Second Language Option, either French as a Second Language (FSL) or Spanish as a Second Language (SSL). Once a student has selected their language option, they must continue in that language for the duration of junior high.
Option courses have been purposefully selected to provide students with exposure to and experience in a range of disciplines that help to enhance and complement the Core Program. They also provide students with opportunities to develop new skills, and to discover or further explore areas of passion and interest.
Please note: In Gr. 7, all students participate in Drama, Band and Art. Grade 8/9 students will have the opportunity to choose from the list below.
