Shelby shares how real-world learning at WIC prepared her for post-secondary and career success.

WIC alumna Shelby Fulton '21 is proof of how experiential learning can lead to real opportunities. Currently studying at the prestigious Ivey Business School at Western University, Shelby credits her experience in WIC’s Institute Program with helping her stand out and secure a coveted internship in the sports and entertainment industry.

Reflecting on her time at WIC, Shelby shared how the hands-on learning and real-world experiences offered through the Institute Program gave her a strong foundation as she transitioned to university.

"The Institute Program helped me gain exposure to the business world early on and pushed me outside of my comfort zone," Shelby says. "I felt like I was already a step ahead when I arrived at university because I had real experience working on projects and engaging with professionals."

Shelby’s story is a testament to how WIC’s Institute Program empowers students to discover their interests, build confidence, and be ready to thrive beyond graduation.
