Outdoor Education

Learning Beyond the Classroom

Step into a world where classrooms are replaced by mountain trails, rivers and forests. Our Outdoor Ed. program offers students new opportunities to learn and grow through immersive experiences in nature. Designed to challenge students both physically and intellectually, Outdoor Ed. encourages personal development, teamwork and respect for the environment.

Program Highlights

Student-Centred Experiences

Embrace winter with exhilarating snowshoeing escapades, discovering the magic of snow-covered landscapes.

Explore camping under the stars, outdoor rock climbing and hiking, forging bonds and creating lasting memories in nature.

Experience cross-country skiing and snowshoeing while navigating the crisp winter air with friends.

Conquer rugged terrain and create bonds at Camp Chief Hector, appreciating the beauty and challenges of outdoor exploration.

Choose your adventure from thrilling options like mountain biking, backpacking and canoeing, fostering teamwork, resilience and fun!

In lieu of an Outdoor Ed. adventure, every Grade 12 student participates in our annual University Tours, where they explore institutions either in Quebec and Ontario, the Maritimes, or locally at the University of Calgary, University of Alberta and Mount Royal University.

I have never really been a winter person, but cross-country skiing in Kananaskis was actually pretty easy and all the fresh snow was beautiful. I can’t wait to do it again! Grade 9 Student
