The Fine Arts program is designed to inspire and nurture creativity in every student. Through our three areas - Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Band - students explore their passions, develop their skills and express themselves in unique and meaningful ways.

Art, Band and Drama in Grade 7
All Grade 7 students participate in Art, Drama and Band as their options. This early exposure to multiple forms of artistic expression is crucial in fostering a well-rounded education. It allows students to develop a diverse skill set that will benefit them across all aspects of life.
Engaging in these disciplines helps build confidence, enhances creativity, and promotes a deeper understanding of various cultural and artistic perspectives.

During my time at WIC, the Fine Arts program gave me opportunities to explore creativity through theatre, band and art. While my focus was always on engineering, these experiences taught me valuable skills like creativity, problem-solving and collaboration that I now use daily in my first year of engineering. Exploring the arts helped me approach challenges from different perspectives and strengthened my ability to work with others - skills I’ll carry with me throughout my career. Enriching the Fine Arts Experience
At WIC, the Fine Arts experience extends far beyond the classroom. Students can immerse themselves in the arts through a variety of activities, such as art clubs, drama performances, technical theatre, jazz ensembles and Institute afternoon sessions.
The Fine Arts Council plans events and activities to build community and celebrate our creative students, including 'The Cabaret' and 'The Arties.’
