Building a Solid Foundation at WIC
Welcome to Junior High (Grades 7 - 9)
In addition to building a strong foundation in core subjects like math, science, English and social studies, junior high students also benefit from exposure to languages, fine arts, our Institute Program, a diverse selection of option courses, athletics, physical education and a reputable Outdoor Education program. In Grade 9, students also have the opportunity to travel abroad with our International Studies program.
These unique academic and co-curricular experiences encourage students to develop into well-rounded, confident individuals ready to lead meaningful lives.
WIC is truly a special place, where students can be uncertain about themselves and their future, and upon graduation, feel confident in who they are, the skills they have learned and their potential. Junior high is such a pivotal time, and I love that the WIC community provides a supportive environment where students can form lasting friendships, safely explore, learn from failure, and try again. For over two decades, I have had the pleasure of watching each WIC student’s unique academic and personal journey and it has been incredibly rewarding.

Endless Opportunities
Junior High French Immersion at WIC provides students with an immersive experience to strengthen their French language skills and deepen their cultural awareness. This program ensures students continue their journey in bilingual education, preparing them to build fluency in French and develop a broader understanding of Francophone cultures worldwide.
It also supports students in becoming confident communicators and global citizens, fostering a lifelong love for languages and preparing them for success in an interconnected world.
Your first step to new connections and new opportunities.
Starting Strong From Day One
Grade 7 Welcome Camp
Welcome Camp is a cornerstone of the WIC experience, providing new Grade 7 students with a warm and exciting introduction to the College before their first day. Over four fun-filled days, students explore the campus, connect with peers, and participate in a variety activities aimed at building relationships with new friends, and WIC faculty & staff.
Led by our Prefects and teachers, this camp builds confidence and fosters meaningful connections. Many graduates look back and reflect on this time when they met lifelong friends and began creating unforgettable memories.
