West Island College’s transportation contractor provides three strategically chosen limited-service bus routes to neighborhoods with the greatest demand.
Our bus routes currently have stops in the following neighborhoods:
- Bus #1 – Arbour Lake, Edgemont, Charleswood, Cambrian Heights, Rosemont, Mt. Pleasant, Crescent Heights and Renfrew.
- Bus #2 – North Glenmore, Altadore, Upper Mount Royal, Elbow Park, Elboya, Belaire and Kelvin Grove.
- Bus #3 – Aspen Woods, Killarney, Upper Hillhurst and Hillhurst
Transportation routes and schedules are designed to limit the maximum amount of time that any one student spends on the bus. To reduce ride times, routes are developed that minimize the number of communities and the total stops on each bus route. These routes do not provide door-to-door service for families and often require families to meet at a central pick-up location.
WIC uses the data collected during enrollment each year to determine the neighborhoods of highest demand. Bus routes are subject to change for each school year.
2024/25 Registration
- Online registration will be emailed to WIC families by May 1, 2024.
- Registration is first-come first-served and bus capacity is limited.
- Returning bus riders must re-register for busing services each year and must adhere to the deadlines.
