As a university preparatory school, WIC offers challenging curricula that encourages students to explore their passions and work to their full potential. While we consider every applicant’s academic performance, WIC seeks out well-rounded students who are prepared to contribute to school life and the greater community. 

During the admissions process, we not only identify how the College can contribute to student success, but also how prospective students can enrich and enhance the school community and its programs.  

French Immersion applicants must currently be enrolled in a French Immersion program and/or demonstrate strong oral and written French proficiency. WIC does not offer Late Immersion. Language proficiency testing will be administered during the admission process to determine suitability.  

At WIC, we are committed to creating a diverse learning and working environment. In using these guiding beliefs to shape our admissions process, WIC embraces all forms of identity that include race, ethnicity, gender, religion, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, and physical ability. 

Prospective students must be prepared to join our community and live out our values by demonstrating honesty, empathy and a commitment to making positive contributions. We value traits such as teamwork, respect and an openness to diverse individuals and perspectives.  

Character and social suitability are assessed through an online profile form completed by the student, as well as during the group interviews. Our goal is to ensure students are both academically capable, and socially prepared to integrate into our close-knit community. 

The Student Success Centre aims to foster physical, emotional and academic well-being through learning supports, counselling and/or personalized educational planning. 

WIC offers Individualized Program Plans (IPPs) to support students with learning challenges who have a psychoeducational code, or areas of need identified in a psychoeducational assessment as requiring support.  

WIC offers rigorous academic programming to students in Gr. 7 – 12. It cannot, however, provide remedial support and/or curriculum modifications outside of what the College currently offers.
