Early Entry Day - Orientation for New Students
All new students must attend, in full uniform, a 2 hour orientation on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 regardless of whether they attended the grade 7 Summer Camp or not.
The purpose of the Orientation is for students to be prepared for their first day of school. Peer Mentors will be meeting with each of the new students during the orientation session in an effort to reduce their anxiety level. Students will also receive their timetables, lockers, school tie and other important information pertaining to the first day of school at WIC.  More detailed information about the Early Entry Day is in the letter that was sent home in July 2010.

The Early Entry Orientation will run from 9:00am – 11:00am for all grade 7 students and from 10:30am -12:00pm for all new students in grades 8-12.

 

Registration for all new students will occur after the orientation is over (from 11:00 am - 12:00 pm for Grade 7s). Registration is for students and parents to fill in all necessary paperwork, to pick up text books, to pay school fees and to receive the WIC handbook.

First Day of School
Thursday, August 26, 2010.  All students are required to come to school wearing their full uniform.

School Supplies Needed On the First Day of School
Each teacher will provide their students with a list of materials required for their specific course. In the meantime, students should arrive at school on the first day with 3-ring binder, lined paper, pens and pencils.

School Buses
If you live in an area where school busing service is provided and you have registered for the service before June 2010, you should expect a telephone call from your bus driver prior to August 25th, 2010 to confirm pick-up and/or drop-off times and location.
The busing service will operate as of Thursday, August 26, 2010.

Lunch Options
Hot meals are available at the "Café Des Loups” for $6.00.  Individual food items/beverages are also available.
Monthly lunch cards may be purchased at the reception desk which is located at front office of the Davies Building for $50.00.
Students may bring their own lunch.
Microwaves are available for students in the lunch room area.
Please note that snacks are also available for purchase from the cafeteria before and after school and after the morning assembly.

When and Where Do We Purchase the School Uniform?
Orders should be placed with Halpern's by the end of June to secure delivery before the first day of school.

House Ties
WIC will distribute House ties to the new students during the first WICAA house meeting (usually the second or third week of school).
